Amway Grand Plaza Wedding Inspiration | Grand Rapids, MI

The Amway Grand, originally the Pantlind hotel, was first constructed back in 1913. Fashioned after English Adams architecture by designers Warren and Wetmore, the hotel’s special details included one of the world’s largest gold-leaf ceilings and two of what are, quite seriously, the world’s most stunning chandeliers, both located in the Pantlind lobby. In 1979, the hotel and downtown Grand Rapids, became less popular as people started moving to the suburbs. The Amway Corporation purchased the Pantlind hotel and restored it to its former glory. In addition to the restoration, Amway also constructed the glass tower in 1983. The hotel’s rebirth sparked a resurgence of downtown Grand Rapids in what we all know and love today. The Amway Grand is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation for recognizing and celebrating the finest historic hotels across America. From the breathtaking exterior architecture to the chandeliers that glow and provide a luxurious ambiance, this venue exudes an elegant, timeless style perfect for any classic wedding.
